Koteswaramma lost everything when she was diagnosed with leprosy. An already devastating medical condition was made so much worse by the cultural stigma attached to it.
After prayer and consideration, our ministry partners have begun focus on one particular unreached people group: the Banjara. The Joshua Project notes, “They are the largest nomadic group in India and are known as the root Romani of the earth.”
When our partners in India first met Saanvi* in March 2021, they could clearly see the cruel marks of oppression etched into every crease of her face. Her expressions were grim more often than not, but truthfully, her life had given her little to smile about.

As if the grief and being the home’s sole source of income weren’t enough, she also had to contend with enormous medical bills from her husband’s hospitalization.
Jeevika* and her husband were on a trip to the market to buy fruit; they were looking for watermelon for the family, especially their two daughters to enjoy.
Fardeen* is a retired teacher and widower with a son and a daughter. A model citizen, he holds a respected position in the community and has always been concerned with school legislation and the education system in India.
