Doors for the gospel are being opened through people’s obedience to Christ’s command to love God and love our neighbors as ourselves.

In early 2021, eight ministry leaders in Southern India began to learn about holistic ministry. They quickly realized that the approach we were showing them could have great benefits and impact in the poor communities around them.

World Challenge’s partners are helping others see how setting boundaries can be not only loving but also an opening for the gospel.

Many believers assume that relationship boundaries are unloving and therefore unchristian. A popular idea is that self-sacrificial living should mean having no defenses or lines that shouldn’t be crossed, but it ignores many verses in the Bible that order us to have discernment and enforce consequences for sinful behavior.

World Challenge’s partners in India are working to help widows and their daughters discover the hope and purpose God has for their lives.

Amara* was crushed when her husband died from COVID-19 in April. She was left to support her two children as well as their grandmother alone. As if the grief and being the home’s sole source of income weren’t enough, she also had to contend with enormous medical bills from her husband’s hospitalization.

God is moving miraculously in the churches of Southeast Asia as a testament to his glory as many people come to faith in him.

New believers are finding physical freedom through faith. One pastor, who is a World Challenge partner in Southeast Asia, shared that he and his church have witnessed incredible miracles during home visits. One involved a woman named Miss Toon who is 50 years old.
