Overcoming Fear with Wholehearted Faith

Learning How to Share Your Faith with Others

Listen to podcast audio:

Why can evangelism seem so overwhelming and difficult, especially if we're not a particularly extroverted person? In this episode, Barry Meguiar joins Gary Wilkerson to talk about how evangelism will always be a little intimidating, and yet there are very practical ways that we can make it easier.

Key Points from the Podcast

  • Most Christians make excuses for not sharing their faith—training, gifting, personality—but when Jesus is your first love you will do the first work of telling others about him.

  • Barry Meguiar shares powerful stories of the amazing things God has done when people shared their faith with others.

  • Some may say that they share their faith by being a good person but being ‘good’ does not get us into heaven.

  • God has promised in the Bible that he will cause all things to work together for those who love him and are called according to his purpose. If we truly love God, then we will tell others about him with the purpose of seeking and saving the lost.

  • Many people today are hurting, and nobody seems to care; but when you follow the Holy Spirit’s nudge, he will orchestrate moments that confirm God’s love to people.

  • When you share your faith with others, you may not immediately see results. It could be days, weeks, months, years, or even decades before you see the fruit of your obedience.

  • Statistics tell us that most Americans are lost, live in fear, want to know God, and have a Christian friend they trust who could tell them about God.

  • Isaiah 43:10 tells us that being God’s witness is not only that others would believe, but also that we would know him and believe.

  • Pew Research recently released a study showing that 40% of Americans, even the unchurched, believe we are in the last days.

  • You may not be able to change the world, but you can change your world when you show the love of Christ to those around you.
