At World Challenge, we rescue orphans and widows from a life of abandonment, poverty, and hunger all over the world. We do this by bringing them into a loving home, renewed health, emotional well-being, a hope for the future, and, most of all, a new friendship with Jesus.
Where spiritual and material poverty overlap and Christians are ostracized and persecuted, we want to care for orphans and widows. Why? Because we believe that Jesus cares for them and that by caring for the most needy, we can shine the light of the Gospel that can change cultures for generations.
For over 50 years, World Challenge has partnered with local churches and believers to rescue orphans and widows and reach entire neighborhoods with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In James 1:27, we are called to "visit orphans and widows in their affliction." In over 22 countries, there are over 20,000 orphans and widows being cared for in ways otherwise impossible. With your help, we stand ready to impact even more of these vulnerable lives by providing shelter, food, and spiritual care so that they can grow safely in the knowledge and love of Jesus.
