Good News in the Heart of Pakistan

Thanks to your faithful support, World Challenge is rescuing orphaned children and giving them hope for a brighter future.

In the remote villages of Pakistan, children face unimaginable hardships. Poverty, poor sanitation, and a lack of clean drinking water expose children to diseases like cholera. Those who have lost their parents are forced to beg in the streets. Many are taken by gangs or abducted by traffickers and are brutally abused for profit.

A child’s helplessness resonates with the heart cry of a parent. Children are a gift from God, and they are entrusted to us to provide for their future. At World Challenge, we celebrate the beautiful blessing of children, and that’s why our heart cry is for the orphan.

The Lord has called us on this mission to ‘be there for the orphan and widow.’ Your financial support provides life-giving aid and shares the love of Christ in places like Pakistan, where persecution, poverty, and hopelessness prevail.

Recently, one widow came to our attention after losing her husband to a mob’s attack. He was brutally killed after being accused of Islamic blasphemy for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. The wife was left alone to grieve with their four children. With no clean water, no milk or food, and no means to care for her young ones, she thought she might have to poison herself and her children. She felt hopeless!

Hearing about her desperate story, our ministry partners shared the good news that they would help her provide the needed care for her children. She was both excited and blessed by their generosity. “I wanted to kill myself. I wanted to kill my children,” she reflected with sorrow.

This widow and her four children now have a brighter future ahead of them. Their destiny was changed thanks to ministry partners like you

A Unique Mission

By faith, World Challenge is providing support for 125 children who have been abandoned and orphaned in the heart of Islam. Despite the intense anti-Christian persecution, the church there is courageously providing for the physical and spiritual needs of these orphans.

Pastor Danish Peter, a World Challenge ministry partner, shared a hopeful report: “The good news is that God himself is a father to the fatherless. He is the caretaker to the orphans and the widows. With World Challenge, we are bringing hope to these children. We are bringing light, which is found in Christ, right where they are.”

The mission is challenging and unique. We reach these orphans right where they are, in their isolated villages and small towns. We rescue them from poverty, disease, and slavery; and we place them with Christian families. That family is provided with monthly support to cover the costs of food, clothing, and other expenses, such as education. The child is not a burden because we help meet their needs, allowing the family to take care of them.

With the help of partners and donors like you, these families can welcome orphans into their homes with open arms. They become their adoptive mothers and fathers, providing them with a path to a brighter future.

But this ministry is not without its risks. Christian leaders, pastors, and orphanage directors daily put their lives on the line to help these children and share the gospel. It’s courageous work, and these fearless Christians need our faithful prayers and support.

Will you consider a monthly gift of $40, $60, $100, or more to provide life-saving aid to orphaned and abandoned children? It only takes $45 a month to provide for the physical and spiritual needs of a child in a family’s care.

It’s amazing what God is doing on the front lines of the Islamic world. He truly is a “Father to the fatherless and a protector of widows” (Psalm 68:5, ESV). Together, let’s reach more orphans and widows and proclaim the good news of Christ’s love. Thank you for being a part of this unique work for God’s kingdom!
