How to Navigate Life’s Transitions

Listen to podcast audio:

Major life changes can be some of the best times, and they can be some of the worst. This week, John Bailey and Mark Renfroe discuss how we can navigate times of transition in a way that is honoring to God and to the people around us.

Key Points from the Podcast

  • Mark Renfroe shares how the acronym G.R.A.F.T. has helped him and others navigate transitions and changes in life.

  • We all go through seasons of change in life—good and bad—but it is important to invite God into those transitions.

  • God wants us to continually grow, which means he will regularly be transitioning us from our current place to a new place of growth.

  • When we are transitioning, we must be sure to reconcile current relationships. If we don’t, the baggage from those bad relationships will follow us into the new season.

  • Before leaving your current situation, think about the people who have been a blessing to you in that place and affirm them and the positive impact they had on you.

  • If your transition involves leaving a location, take some time to enjoy that place and the people, as well as mourn the loss before departing.

  • Depending on our personality or experience, changes can be more challenging to navigate.

  • As you prepare to move into a new season of life, begin to think about how you can really get planted and grow in the next situation.
