COVER LETTER
THE LORD’S COMPASSION NEVER FAILS!
What is the Lord’s word of hope in these troubled times? It is this: The Lord’s compassion for his people never fails. Whatever you are going through, no matter what lies ahead, the Lord is full of compassion for you. Never doubt that.
“But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth” (Psalm 86:15).
Compassion here means “to hold, to love, to show mercy.”
“O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid” (86:16).
“Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous” (Psalm 112:4).
God has made a covenant to comfort and love and show great, tender kindness to his children.
“But Zion said, The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me” (Isaiah 49:14–16).
When fear grips your mind and soul, remember these words of our heavenly Father: “There may be earthly mothers who forsake their sucking children, but I will never forget or forsake you!” Then the Lord says, “Your walls are continually before me.” In other words: “Your hardships, your seemingly impossible situations, your financial needs — all are before my eyes.”
Dearly beloved of God, his throne is open to all of us. When you feel the arrows of fear, go to prayer immediately. You have access to his presence every hour of every day. Take heart — there are changes coming, but God has promised to feed and clothe you and yours. Stay in the Word of God for your daily encouragement. God is with you.
