COVER LETTER

February 18, 2008

Dearly Beloved:

GOD BLESS YOU WITH ALL SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS.

The news today was quite scary. The stock market was near panic; the housing crisis grew worse; and the President planned to introduce a multibillion-dollar economic stimulus package. Democrat and Republican leaders called for an immediate rescue plan for the economy.

No one seems to have answers to all the complex social and economic crises, and it is creating mounting fear worldwide. People ask: “Where is a safe haven? Where can I put my money? Will we have a deep recession? Could we be spinning off into another depression?” No one knows.

But this I do know: Our God has everything under control! There is not a single reference in the Bible of a panic among those who fully trusted and called upon God in times of crisis and calamity, at least not to my knowledge. Those who know and trust God can say with Paul, “I know whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.”

“That day” Paul refers to is any and all days of uncertainty and chaos. David said confidently, “I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved” (Psalm 16:8). The result of radical trust in God and his Word is peace and rest. “Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh shall also rest in hope” (Psalm 16:9).

Have you committed your family to God's covenant promises to protect and keep them in the hour of turmoil? Or do you live in fear daily that your children will be seduced by drugs, alcohol or promiscuous friends? This was the great sin of Israel. They looked at the enemies surrounding them and refused to believe God's promises to protect their families. They were overcome with fear that their children would be slaughtered. God did not take their unbelief lightly. The parents died in the wilderness while their children marched victoriously into the Promised Land.

Beloved, our mighty God swears to us that he is our keeper. Over and again he reminds us, “I will keep you. Trust me!” “He that keepeth you will not slumber nor sleep…The Lord is your keeper…The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; he shall preserve your soul” (Psalm 121:3–7). “O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in you” (Psalm 25:20–21).

HE WILL KEEP THAT WHICH YOU COMMIT TO HIM — WITHOUT RESERVE OR WAVERING. Commit to him your finances — your family — your job or career — your fears and troubles — and especially your soul.

  • “And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus ” (Philippians 4:7).
  • “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy…” (Jude 24).

Many thanks to all who pray for us and who support our charitable missions programs worldwide. He is our Jehovah Jireh! God bless and keep you.

In Christ,
DAVID WILKERSON
