COVER LETTER
Dearly Beloved:
MAY THE LORD KEEP HIS HAND OF LOVE ON YOU ALWAYS.
I would like to answer some of the questions sent to me by a few of our readers. None of the questions were critical, but they deserve to be answered.
-
Why the glossy change in your mailing? I liked the plain, simple, unglossed paper. Why the change?
We were given a special price on the glossy paper. But I did not like it myself. I have already changed it back to our old style, but it took a couple of months to go into effect.
-
Why did you put your picture on your present format? That is not like you. It bothers me when ministers advertise like this.
I agree; I have asked my staff to make a change. This may sound trivial to some, but it seems distracting to some genuine readers of my messages.
-
Are you still pastoring at Times Square Church? Are you changing direction or retiring? I'd like to know.
I am still active at Times Square Church. I appointed Pastor Carter Conlon as senior pastor; he is a very godly man. Three other precious pastors assist us. Because of my age (74), I have cut back my preaching schedule, and Pastor Carter and our staff of pastors carry the work load. We are a team, walking in blessed unity and respect for one another. I believe this is one reason why God has so blessed the church.
-
How is your wife's health? Does she travel with you?
Gwen is no longer able to travel with me. Her ministry is reading the letters mailed to our office. She has macular degeneration, but as long as she has sight, she insists on reading and praying over the letters. She also recently had knee replacement and has other health problems. I need to be with her now full time, so I have rescheduled all my 2006 worldwide meetings into 2007, except for our Jerusalem conference June 13–15, 2006.
-
Is your conference in Jerusalem for ministers only, or can laymen like me apply?
It is open to everyone — pastors and laypeople alike. We are calling this conference, “Let Us Go Up to Jerusalem.” A thousand people have already reserved seats, so two thousand seats remain. The first two thousand who apply will be accepted.
If you want information on this conference, go to www.davidwilkerson.org. If you have no computer, you may call my Texas office at 903-963-8626 for information. This conference will include three nights and two full days of meetings. Arrangements can be made for additional days to tour the Holy Land sites.
My heart is full of gratitude and thanksgiving for so many caring friends who have supported and prayed for this ministry for many years. On page 4 of my message, you will find a list of some of the many outreaches we support all over the world. I can tell you that God has been faithful and has supplied every need for over 30 years. We are humbled by God's faithfulness. It has been one miracle after another, day by day.
We do read all our mail. And we do take heed to the concerns of those who receive our messages.
God bless you. Thanks for hearing my heart.
His bondservant,
DAVID WILKERSON
