COVER LETTER
Dearly Beloved:
THE LORD IS GOOD, AND HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER.
I AM ASKING FOR A SPECIAL FAVOR OF ALL OUR FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS. God has put it on my heart to reach more young adults with the message God has given us. This is what I pray you will do to help us: I am enclosing what I call our “Add On” form, with spaces for twelve names. We are looking for the names and addresses of adult singles, young married couples, and middle-age people who are not hardened to the gospel.
If you have followed our ministry over any number of years, you know this is not a fund-raising scheme. We truly want to reach this younger generation with the truth to set them free. My desire is to send them a free copy of my book The Cross and the Switchblade, which I believe will encourage their faith and give them new hope.
A recent survey here at Times Square Church revealed that more than half our congregation is age 29 or under. This is proof to us that America's younger generation is seeking reality and hungering for more than a “feel good” message.
We have many elderly saints on our readers' list, including grandparents and widows. They have stood with us for many years, and are among our very best and most faithful prayer supporters. They have become like family to us, and we love them dearly.
Now we need the help of every friend and supporter to help us enlist young singles and married couples. Perhaps you can locate twelve such names in your church directory — or the names of married children in your family, or other relatives who are open to truth. Feel free to include those over thirty years old also, even up to sixty years of age.
We want to do all we can to build these younger generations up in faith, to give them hope, to lovingly correct of sin when God leads, and to bring them into a deeper walk with Christ. This is one form of evangelism we all can be involved in. Will you help? Even if you are able to send only a few names, we appreciate any help you can provide. Be sure to print all names clearly and make sure addresses are up to date.
Thank you so much for being such a blessing. Please know also that any prayer requests sent to us are prayed over in our office, then prayed over a second time by the whole congregation of Times Square Church.
Your support is absolutely vital to help us reach so many needs. Thank you.
His bondservant,
DAVID WILKERSON
