City of Refuge: Colombia
Foundation City of Refuge is located in Medellin, Colombia. It is a non-profit organization committed to re-socializing homeless adults in the city and metropolitan area. Their work is based upon biblical principles by which they re-establish man's relationship with God and his surroundings. This is complemented with job-skills training to help them develop marketable skills. City of Refuge also holds church services for the homeless and the displaced on Sunday mornings at the rehabilitation center where over 100 people attend.
FIDA International: Uganda, Finland
FIDA International coordinates the world-wide missionary work of the Finnish Pentecostal Church. This organization has 437 missionaries in 48 countries (2005). They focus on the areas of missions work, humanitarian aid, and community development. Their ministries comprise evangelizing and establishing churches, Bible studies for national workers, missions training for missionary candidates in Finland, ministry among Jews and Muslims, ministry among children, and youth work.
Caring Hands: Uganda
Caring Hands is made up of volunteers who assist neighborhood Kampala families living in poverty, giving them new hope for the future. Their goal is to break the cycle of poverty in families in the community.
