Recently I was sitting in the living room of an average Lao house, but with a less than average group of men and women. This small group's history has been one of loss and trauma due to many years of alcohol and drug addiction. As a result, families have been broken, pregnancies have occurred, abuse has become the norm and these lives were considered wasted and permanently ruined.

Yet, as the apostle Paul says, "But God!" The song of old, "How wonderful, how marvelous is my Savior's love for me," is once again being lived in brilliant colors! Laos, a sometimes called 'restricted' nation due to Communism, is totally open to our mighty God and He is really busy with transformational work in the lives that are before me.

As I share a few thoughts from the Scriptures, hoping to encourage these 'new born babes' in Christ, one young man quietly rises from his seat and goes to a black board on the wall directly behind me. Without a single spoken word, he begins to draw a crude picture. It looked this way: an airplane drawn over two small sections of land, pulling something below it which left a single groove or opening between them. As he drew, everything in the room stopped, even my devotional. He finished as quickly and quietly as he had begun and returned to his seat, yet every eye was on the drawing, all trying to deduce something from it.

He was then asked, "What does this mean?" He humbly, yet authoritatively replied, "God gave this to me to say that these foreigners are being used by God to plow Laos for His harvest." Every eye immediately returned and lingered on the drawing as the truth of this hit home, as all recognized it as a word from God. The plane was the foreigners (us), pulling a plow (the ministries we are involved in and support) to plant and harvest souls in Laos (the sections of land). I will remember this…and hope that you will too as you continue to support World Challenge in prayer and provisions.
