Advent Conspiracy - Love All - Three Strikes and You're Out by Nicky Cruz

EXPECT 2011 - The Holy Ghost Hospital

The church is to be a place of healing and restoration, but we often find fighting and bickering. A lot of us are engaged in war, but with the wrong enemy. It isn't uncommon to find more compassion in the local bar than in the local church. We must lay aside our differences, forgive each other, love each other and seek out the lost. There are many backslidden believers longing to return to the church, but they fear the judgment they'll face if they do. It's time for the church to open its doors and hearts to the lost and hurting that desperately need healing.

Not Living Up to Your Label

At some point in our lives we all get labeled by others, and some of us carry those labels until the day we die. Once applied, labels are hard to remove. They become self-fulfilling prophecies that affect how we live our lives. Jabez, from birth, was called “pain” but he didn't let this label direct his life. Instead, he asked God to give him a life contrary to his label. Jabez asked to be blessed, prospered and kept from evil. He refused to be cursed by his label, rather he lived a life of blessing — to himself as well as others.

It's Just a Train Passing By

Tenants of a New York City apartment building were calling 911 because their building was shaking. The operator told them not to worry; that it was just a train passing by; and that they would be okay. Those vibrations ended up causing the building to collapse. The world portrays sin as acceptable, and even enjoyable — it won't hurt you! Just as those little vibrations caused that building to collapse, sin in our life escalates and causes our life to collapse. In the midst of it all, God provides a refuge, a way out, through His Son Jesus Christ.

Evangelism Training: Do You See What I See?

Nicky Cruz shares about the importance of seeing people the way Jesus sees them. We must be able to recognize the needs of others and take a detour from our own lives in order to minister to the lost and hurting around us.

EXPECT 2010 - Session 2

In the second session of our EXPECT 2010 Church Leadership Conference, Nicky Cruz of Nicky Cruz Outreach speaks about overcoming spiritual depression. Our spiritual highs are often followed by spiritual lows. Elijah and Moses were both so depressed they asked God to take their life. Depression and burnout are an epidemic in the ministry. Many ministers are quitting because of moral failure, spiritual burnout, and contention in the church. Both Paul and David confessed their pain, trouble, and distress to God.

Flashback

Flashbacks are often used in movies to show how the past is affecting the present. Our pasts can sometimes help us correct the present, but as Christians we're instructed to forget the former things. We are to focus on what is ahead. Past hurts and fears are covered in Christ's blood. Enjoy the present, and trust God with your future. The plans He has for you are for good and not to harm you.

Advent Conspiracy - Love All - Three Strikes and You're Out

Peter was a passionate and emotional disciple. He saw many miracles, walked on water, and said he would follow Jesus anywhere; yet at Christ’s trial Peter denies Him three times. Guilt and shame made Peter discouraged. He’d forgotten the promise Jesus had given him: You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church. Like Peter, we get discouraged when we feel like we let God down. The enemy uses discouragement to keep us down. The Kingdom does not operate on a “three strikes and you’re out” principle. The Scriptures tell us that if we fall we are to get back up.
