Resting in Jesus in Perilous Times
COVER LETTER
Dearly Beloved:
In my prayer walk today, I asked the Holy Spirit to give me a word of hope and strength for these troubling times.
I want to share with you what I heard the Lord speaking to my concerns. I strongly believe God still speaks to his children today. Let me summarize what was made known to me:
There may still be a short respite from the financial crisis — but it would be a mercy call to repentance, both to wicked society and to an apathetic church.
It will come down to this:
God's People Will Never Be Ashamed in the Time of Calamity
We will face impossible situations that demand nothing less than a miracle. God's people will never be triumphed over in times of calamity. Just as sure as God warns us of calamities, God will speak His promises into our heart. When you commit God to His Word the impossible becomes possible. We must take our faith to the distant unknown and stand on the promises of God. Those who put their trust in God will never be put to shame.
A Time to Weep and a Time to Fight
God will never leave His church without answers. In these times of sudden calamity the initial response may be fear, but we must trust that God has everything under control. He has a million ways to solve our problems. Usually in these times God is the only one that can give us answers. We must turn off every voice of humanity. God's people get their answers from one place and that is the Bible. God is calling His people in the secret closet of prayer so we can get a Word from Him. Don't let the Sunday morning blessings fade into the troubles of this day. Encourage yourself in the Lord!
Getting Ready for the End of All Things
In his first letter to the church, Peter speaks of the last days. He states bluntly: “The end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:7–8).
Getting Ready for the End of All Things
COVER LETTER
Dearly Beloved:
GOD KNOWS — GOD HEARS — GOD ANSWERS.
In my prayer walk today, I asked the Lord what he desires of us in these perilous times. In that sweet, familiar voice I heard: “God’s greatest joy is to behold unwavering trust in his children.” I believe I delight my Lord when I completely trust him while all things are frightful and dark.
