God Knows
Today many Christians are suffering with various afflictions and trials. In these seasons we have a tendency to question God's faithfulness and doubt that He will answer our prayers. When our problems go from bad to worse and the answer doesn’t seem to come, there is a bitterness that begins to rise up. We can do one of two things. We can either turn to the Lord and trust in His Word, or we can charge God with "Fatherly negligence". God knows and cares!
Jonah – A Worm, a Withering, and a Warm Wind
When God relents from destroying Nineveh, Jonah accuses Him of doing a “great evil.” Jonah sits outside the city to see what will come of it — hoping God might change his mind and rain fire down upon Nineveh. God appoints a plant to provide shade and comfort for Jonah, but the next day God appoints a worm to eat the plant, and then sends a scorching east wind. Like Jonah, we can hang on to a root of bitterness and anger toward God when things don’t go our way.
A Fresh Supply of the Holy Spirit
Despite his afflictions Paul had a tremendous burden and joy for the church of Jesus Christ. It was a good day for Paul if the gospel was being advanced, even if it meant him being arrested and thrown into a dark dungeon prison. Paul knew that it was through our prayers for others that they receive a fresh supply of the Holy Spirit. Just as Paul did, we should count it a joy to pray for others and have the Holy Spirit fill them anew.
Preparing to Stand in the Coming Storm
There is a longing in the heart of God to give His church the resources that we need to be the people He has called us to be. The Bible says to keep asking and we will receive. But what are we asking for? We are to put away childish prayers that are self-focused and begin to ask for the power and provision we need to minister to fallen humanity. Ask God for a heart for this world and an awareness of how much He loves people. Those who are looking away from self and are given for the work of God will be given supernatural strength in the coming storm!
Dealing with Chapter Eleven Bankruptcy
If there is an area in your life that is uncultivated by the Word of God, undealt with sin will manifest. Rebellion kills the harvest God wants to bring through our lives. There will be seasons when God allows the sin to manifest so we can begin to deal with it. Repentance is the great weed killer. Don't let sin choke the life of Christ in you. God desires us to have fruitfulness in our walk. If we obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit and begin to sow in the spirit we will reap a harvest that brings Glory to God.

The Greatest Thing That Never Was
In a time of difficulty when the enemy is trying to destroy us we can choose to wait on the Lord and trust Him or we can take matters in our own hands and go ahead of Him. It is in these difficult times that we are given the opportunity to trust in God's faithfulness. God will show up in our situation and He will take care of things in His way and in His timing. God is calling us to sit in His presence and give Him the benefit of the doubt. If we put our trust in God and we are resting in His Sabbath, He will always confirm that we are in the right place.
