City of Refuge: Colombia, Medellin

Foundation City of Refuge is located in Medellin, Colombia. It is a non-profit organization committed to re-socializing homeless adults in the city and metropolitan area. Their work is based upon biblical principles by which they re-establish man's relationship with God and his surroundings. This is complemented with job-skills training to help them develop marketable skills. City of Refuge also holds church services for the homeless and the displaced on Sunday mornings at the rehabilitation center where over 100 people attend. Nine months ago they started a church to reach out to a very poor neighborhood. There they hold services on Sundays and during the week. They also run a feeding program for impoverished children in the neighborhood. City of Refuge now operates a micro business that is employing men from the rehabilitation program and the home for displaced families.
